About Matt McGuire

Matt McGuire's love of real estate, design and architecture has its roots in his childhood — literally. As a child, he remembers hopping on his bike and riding through the neighborhood, looking for open houses to attend. His parents, he said, would find out later he had toured a house and asked the agent a million questions.

He would ultimately go on to earn a degree in architecture from the University of Kansas, and travel throughout Europe while interning with an architect in Paris. Matt's introduction to the 30A corridor came through hands-on design and project management of custom homes in its various neighborhoods and resorts. He always knew he would get into real estate, a decision he finally made in 2005.

As a NAR member with local design and architecture background, he has been able to share his knowledge and insight to the benefit of his clients in WaterColor, 30A and beyond. This was particularly true for a couple he had been working with who found their perfect location, but a home that needed some love and attention. Matt was able to share his vision of the home with the buyer and their designer, and watch many of his recommendations come to fruition, creating the buyers' dream home in the process.

A member of the Scenic Sotheby's International Realty team since 2016, Matt works with investors and second homeowners to help align them with a property where they can create lifelong memories. He particularly enjoys guiding people to properties that may not have previously been on their radar — by listening intently and anticipating people's needs.

Matt takes a hands-on approach to his marketing, shunning traditional avenues and working closely with people to earn word of mouth and referral business. Part of his strategy involves keeping in communication with former and prospective clients on a regular basis.

In his free time, Matt enjoys running and has competed in several triathlons, Ironman Florida and the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. He marries his passion for racing with his love of travel, turning race locales into destinations. He also enjoys cooking and entertaining.
